If you start focusing your sales efforts on your proven customers, you’ll be able to increase your tool sales dramatically. And these are fantastic ways to increase sales and will help build loyalty as well. Try these 3 tips to increase your sales:

• Offer a sales incentive program.

Give your prospects a reason to get out there and offer, offer, offer. Why do so many businesses that rely on their sales staff to drive sales have incentive programs in place? Because offering their staff a can’t refuse incentive makes them work harder and it works. It’s all about marketing strategy and giving people what they want by using incentive programs “sweet and simple and attainable”.

Offer something they can use to become profitable today, not in weeks or months.

• Encourage your prospects to upsell.

Essentially, upselling involves adding related products, programs or services to your downline, making it convenient and necessary for marketers to offer incentive programs. Just placing more options near your prospects isn’t going to increase your sales much. To upsell successfully, the marketer has to be persuaded of the benefit.

For instance, when I last had my car detailed, the cleaner noticed swirls in my paint. Instead of just cleaning it up, he drew my attention to it, and showed me how easily and effectively the wax cleaning solution removed all trace of the swirl marks. Did I buy the wax cleaning solution? You bet. He persuaded me that buying it was beneficial to me and made it convenient to purchase it. Result: increased sales for the auto detailing company.

• Give your prospects the inside scoop.

Recently I was shopping at my local hardware store. I had picked out an item and was pondering over whether to buy it or not when a salesperson came up to me and said, “I see you’re interested in that barbeque. We’re having a sale next week and all our barbeques will be 30 percent off. You might want to come back then.” Guess what? I did – and bought two other items for my new barbeque as well.

Lesson: if you have a promotion or sale coming up, tell your prospects about it. They’ll come back – and probably bring some friends with them.

It’s impossible to know what marketing strategies people are using to build their businesses. Internet marketing is not a one size fits all business so that’s why it is so important to give people options. Let them look inside your vault and pick which item they want to use instead of giving away a simple ebook that’s only going to collect dust on their computer.

It’s kind of like opening the door to the store and telling them to go pick what they want – no charge and letting them do the same to a friend.

Imagine all the people who will flock when they are told they have a choice in what they can take from that store absolutely free of charge and how popular do you think your “store” would be once people got word?

A great incentive when it comes to Internet Marketing will boost response rates whether or not you are using it to build your all important list of prospects, or increase profits from the leads that you have generated already.

You may be wondering how to figure out which incentive or incentive program will provide the least amount of effort and give you the maximum results. Well when it comes to online marketing, it’s easy because marketers love to get free things, PLR products, ebooks, software, articles, scripts, templates and information.

But the thing is, they don’t get a choice in what they get because you are enticing them with a ebook.

A lot of marketers don’t always accept incentives, if they take whatever action you are wanting them to take it’s because they are genuinely interested in the product, program or service you are offering.

The ebooks are getting stale and that just isn’t working as well as it used to. But think about the possibilities if these marketers could pick and choose exactly what they wanted instead of having to settle for what they are given.

Sadly many marketers have put in an enormous amount of time and effort into their blogs, sites pages, whatever you want to call them and have yet to profit but by simply adding the “ideal incentive” can really boost the results they are seeking.

It’s not what you consider valuable, it’s what THEY perceive as value that matters, that’s why it’s so important to give people the choice to come on in and pick out their own incentives themselves. What you consider value, they might see as junk.

When something so powerful is starring them in the face and you are able to encourage them to try and find a comparable service that will offer so much they will come back and hunt you down because they won’t find what you have to offer anywhere else.

This is starting to sink in now isn’t it?

Leave the door open and let them take as much loot as they want, whenever they want. And you’ll have a dead ringer.

Convert your visitors into buyers… Getting visitors to your web site is only half the battle. To be victorious, you need them to convert into customers by making purchases, signing up for services or fulfilling whatever your goals are.

The adventure behind this may help you map out the remainder of your life… like it did mine.

Ahem…

Promise #1:

“It’s too convoluted. You’ll never understand it.” — are pretty much the exact words that my now ex-husband said to me after my first 2 months of struggling to learn the ropes of the Internet Marketing game.

Those words are burned into my dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, because it had been the first time in my life that I had ever actually known what it felt like to have real passion. I had begun to nurture a small ember of actual hope and direction about my future, my husbands future, our future together. He wanted me to throw it all away like yesterdays garbage.

All I’d wanted from him was a smidgen of support. Maybe a little understanding. Or offer a few words of encouragement.

I was a humble house wife at the time. But I wanted to contribute financially so we could be free to do the things we dreamed of and I wanted to do it from the comfort of my home without having to respect the time of someone else’s watch.

And I was genuinely flabbergasted about the Internet. I’d never known a real Internet Marketer before, and was very curious in finding out more.

I thought a partner was someone who stood behind you through thick and thin. I suppose I would have squealed with joy if he had said, instead, something like “You’re smart, give it time and eventually you’ll get the hang of it.”

However, it was a HUGE blessing by him being such a pessimistic, doubtful individual.

As I looked up at him from my computer, trying to choke back the tears for having hoped he’s be more supportive then realizing he so brutally refused, I promised myself that I was going to be successful with or without him and nobody was going to decide what I wanted out of life and what direction I was going to take.

And I use that promise as incentive whenever I need some extra juice to keep moving forward.

Over time I met some really great people, some whom I even consider friends. I partnered up with someone who has the same goals and interests as I do. We work as a team now and because of my partners patience and guidance I’ve become closer to reaching my goals.

So I gotta give it to him. He did me good by sparking my up-to-that-point hibernating capability to follow my dreams. Literally with a purpose.

As far as I’ve come (with the help of my business partner) it has been done entirely on my own decisions. I took the Work Smarter Not Harder approach and ran with it…

… and 2.5 years later, I don’t regret a single moment of the journey. Granted, working online is not the easiest thing to figure out when you have no prior experience but with the right people, the right online marketing tools, and guidance it’s made success a possibility, even for someone like me… know that it can be done!

I have yet to accomplish all of my goals but I have to say a big THANK YOU for helping me realize what I really want out of my life.

I have been a Charter Member of 12 Second Commute since inception. At one point I had requested a change in my Username, within 24 hours I went from bt79828 to AngieMitchell.

I was happy as a pig in (you know what!)

I never gave bt79828 another thought. I had a new member join my team and he informed me that one of my tracking links was not going to my 12SC affiliate links. I checked it and it took me to what I thought was one of my pages that did not include a picture and contact information of myself.

So I left it alone.

This is a portion of his first email to me:

Hi Angie,

blah, blah, blah…

“On another note… it seems to me that you are loosing referrals in your 12SC business… your url http://www.12path.com/internetmarketingtools doesn’t point to your affiliate link… try visit other people 12SC affiliate link and then visit http://www.12path.com/internetmarketingtools … you will see their name in the sign-up page.”

I assured him that everything was kosher and not to worry.

My new found friend was insistent that it was not linked to me. So I checked it out again and it did the same thing. I was starting to think he was a bit confused.

This morning he sent me another email:

“I’ll contact you today via skype, you are losing sales in 12SC!”

So again I go and check, I cleared my cookies and my cache and refreshed the link….. AH HA!

I WAS LOSING SALES!!

I saw a totally different affiliate page than I saw the first 2 times, this time I saw pictures and contact info of other members.

I cleared all history and did this a few more times… I saw multiple 12 Second Commute Charter members pages.

I did not realize that if you change your Username, your old links attached to your old Username will become “floaters” and act as a giant rotator for all the Members of 12SC!

I had assumed that the system would automatically make the switch.

NO, NO, NO… It does not.

So for the past 7 months some of the Members here at 12SC may have gotten signups and benefited from my hard work to some extent, let me be the first to say Congratulations if you have…

I actually contacted a few of my close contacts and discussed my concern, I had boiled it down and explained it off as “an extended silly season.”

Needless to say, (after almost blacking out) I went through all of my old affiliate tracking links and made the correction.

I ended up changing 19 tracking links that had a combined count of over 10,000 hits and a few of those had a boat load of traffic going to them to boot!

Am I pissed?

Not at all… I look at it as I’ve done my good deed for the next 5 years

Even after this BROBDINGNAGIAN faux pas, I wanted to share something that has been very valuable to me and a few other people I know.

…Of course there are two sides.

When it comes to list building some say “educated prospects are the best prospects.” Because they know their stuff, they’ve been around the block a few times, been chewed up and spit out and likely have been left by the side of the road with an empty wallet. They have earned their stripes and have learned from their mistakes… the hard way.

They are damn proud of it too!
